Search Basics

There is a lot of information in Matrix and understanding the Search functionality can help greatly in finding what information you need at your fingertips.


About the Search Function
The Search bar is a tool that will allow you to search for any Account, Agency, Contact, or Salesperson that you have access to view. It is based on keyword searching, meaning that Matrix will return matches containing your search criteria in any part of the name. The Search bar will accept numbers and letters. You can access an item from the drop list that appears, or you can use the Search Results list. The drop list is limited to show 5 results for each item (i.e. 5 Accounts, 5 Agencies, and 5 Contacts). Therefore, to see more results, you can use the Search Results list.


The Search Function - Use the Drop List
1. In the Search bar, type at least two characters. A drop list appears beneath the Search bar, displaying potential matches. You can continue to type additional characters if you need to further refine the list.
2. From the list, click the Account, Agency, Contact, or Salesperson that you wish to display. The corresponding page of your selection will appear in view.


The Search Function - Use the Search Results List
You can use the Search Results list to see an entire list of search results.
1. In the Search bar, type at least two characters. Ignore the drop list that appears.
2. Click the Search button, or press Enter.The Search Results list appears.
3. From the list, click the Account, Agency, Contact, or Salesperson that you wish to display. The corresponding page of your selection will appear in view.
